    CONCEPTS AND INQUIRIES

    · Relationship between the natural

    and the built environment

    · Strokes of the original landscape and

    presence of Natural elements

    · Ways of living

    · Visuals

Rhythm between the void and the mass, between the reflection of the hill and the classical brick of the red city.

Bogota’s downtown area has a very low residential activity, therefore, the dynamics are very static at night. This project pretends to stimulate new uses, increasing social interaction.

One of the major components of the project is to articulate the intimate home life with the busy street, withouth interfiring. This is achieved based on two strategies. The first one, is the use of balconies in every apartment, which links the home life with what is happening in their immediate context. The second one is a public plaza, which activates the diurnal and nocturnal life, creating a meeting place not only for the residents but for the entire population of the sector.

The building tries to built a link between the stoning hills of Bogota and the iconic skyline of downtown. Therefore, the materiality of the building creates a rhythm between the void and the mass, between the reflection of the hill and the classical brick of the red city.
